Hablar del tiempo en inglés puede parecer muy simple al principio, pero rápidamente descubrimos que los hablantes nativos usan muchas formas distintas para dar la hora, referirse a momentos del día y hablar de cuándo sucede algo.

1. Cómo decir la hora en inglés
.
Para decir la hora, en inglés usamos: It’s + hora
Ejemplos:
- It’s one o’clock. → Es la una en punto.
- It’s five o’clock. → Son las cinco en punto.

Minutos después de la hora: “past”
Usamos past para indicar minutos luego de la hora:
- It’s ten past three. → Son las 3:10.
- It’s twenty past six. → Son las 6:20.
- It’s a quarter past nine. → Son las 9:15.
👉 a quarter = un cuarto = 15 minutos.

Minutos antes de la hora: “to”
Usamos to para indicar que faltan minutos para la siguiente hora:
- It’s ten to four. → Son las 3:50.
- It’s twenty to eight. → Son las 7:40.
- It’s a quarter to six. → Son las 5:45.

Forma digital (muy común)
Muchos hablantes simplemente dicen:
- It’s three ten. (3:10)
- It’s nine forty-five. (9:45)
- It’s six twenty. (6:20)
👉 Más sencillo y más usado que las formas “past/to”.

2. Momentos del día (Parts of the day)

- in the morning → por la mañana
- in the afternoon → por la tarde
- in the evening → por la tarde/noche (antes de dormir)
- at night → por la noche

- in time → a tiempo (antes de que sea tarde)

4. Cómo preguntar la hora
