Las preposiciones relacionadas con movement (movimiento) y direction (dirección) en inglés son fundamentales para hablar sobre hacia dónde se mueve alguien o algo. Expresan el trayecto o la dirección que sigue una acción.

Along	A lo largo de	We walked along the beach.	Caminamos por la playa.
Past	Más allá de / pasando por	She walked past the library.	Pasó frente a la biblioteca.
Through	A través del interior de algo	They drove through the tunnel.	Condujeron por el túnel.
Up	Hacia arriba	He ran up the stairs.	Subió corriendo las escaleras.

Diferencias importantes

To vs Into:

To se refiere a la dirección general hacia un lugar: I’m going to the store.
Into implica movimiento al interior: He went into the store.

On vs Onto:

On = estado estático: The book is on the table.
Onto = movimiento hacia una superficie: He put the book onto the table.

Out of vs From:

Out of = movimiento desde el interior: She got out of the car.

From = punto de partida general: She came from Spain.

Excepciones y confusiones comunes

❌ I’m going in the cinema. → ✅ I’m going to the cinema.

❌ The bird flew in the window. → ✅ The bird flew into the window.
(In describe ubicación; into describe movimiento.)

❌ He climbed on the roof. (puede ser correcto si ya estaba arriba)
→ ✅ He climbed onto the roof. (si hubo movimiento hacia arriba)
